, who is leading a stingy Rosemount Irish into the 6A state playoffs with the best regular season resume in the state and a ton of talent across three graduating classes reinforcing him. Gilbertson is one of the hardest hitters in the state who always has a fun tape to watch, and his instincts, production, and general explosive tackling ability have paid off as the Iowa State Cyclones offered a PWO on October 24th that he happily accepted on November 3rd. The 6’1, 205 lber. came into the season with plenty of DII scholarship and FCS roster spots, but the bright lights of Big12 football were too hard to ignore. I love how he works through blocks with both speed and power, identifies and flows to the ball quickly, and absolutely lays the wood at the point of contact. One of the hardest hitters on this list! Give his tape a watch -> http://www.hudl.com/v/2JbTxz

Gilbertson spearheaded a defense that completely took over the game in the second half. In fact, outside of one drive late in the first half, Gilbertson and the defense gave up some yards but when the chips were down, the defense stood tall. Gilbertson led all defensive players with eight total tackles.

just made for an exciting PWO commit to Big12 Iowa State two days ago. The 6’1, 210 lber. earned the walk-on on September 24th and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play P5 football, and PRzMN is pumped for the youngster and can’t wait to watch lay the wood at the college level. One of the harder hitters in the state, Gilbertson came into the season with a Ivy League opportunity from Columbia and a host of DII scholarship offers, but will leave Rosemount as a P5 commit heading to the bright lights and cornfields of Ames. He’s laid more massive hits in 2022, with recipients from Lakeville South, Edina, Eagan, and Farmington all receiving bone-jarring shots and impressively hard hits to open Gilbertson’s tape. He’s also strong when attacking blocks, technically sound, takes good angles in pursuit, and excels in the run game. He’s going to look great in the Cyclones uniform!
