Patton checks into our rankings as a top 40 defensive linemen in his class, and is very deserving to enter into our rankings. He is another big framed kid that can pack on more weight as he moves through his collegiate career, and shows some good growth potential as he is still raw. Patton wins with good leverage, solid hand usage and shows he can quickly get off blocks and control blockers with ease against the run. In pass rush situations, he has a quick first step, can throw both inside and outside moves and can get underneath bigger blockers while showing he can make tackles and move fluidly in space as well. The 3-star prospect has 6 offers and is a high academic kid that remains one of the top uncommitted DL across California as we head into the later part of the Summer.
