Mayers jumped from the 2028 watchlist to the official rankings after taking over as the primary playmaker out of the backfield for Santana last season. The 6’/166 RB rushed for 500 yards and 3 TDs on 158 carries as a sophomore. He’s a savvy ball-carrier that shows his balance and toughness picking up yards after contact. He deploys good footwork, agility, and vision finding running room in narrow spaces around the LOS. Mayers is an underrated playmaker to keep tabs on as he continues to grow and develop.

He was one of the top testers in the broad jump at this event last year and it will be interesting to see how he has developed as an athlete since last offseason.

Mayers is returning to the PRZ CA Showcase after attending January’s event as a RB. The 2028 RB/LB out of Santana was productive on the defensive side of the ball totaling 34 tackles, 3 sacks, and 6 TFLs as a freshman. He’s a good athlete that shows some promising skill development at this early stage of his career. Mayers will be an intriguing player to watch on Sunday to see how his offseason development is progressing.

Mayers was one of San Diego’s most productive freshman tacklers with 34 total (24 solo), 3 sacks, and 6 TFLs in the fall. Also worked out with the RBs at January’s PRZ CA Showcase, where he showed promising athleticism and receiving skills in 1v1s. Played off the edge as an OLB last season showing his lateral range, high motor, and ability to contain the edge. He’s an active tackler that’s quick and efficient to the ball and can finesse his way around less-athletic OTs. Mayers has continued to stay busy this offseason and should be on San Diego’s breakout radar coming into his sophomore campaign.
