Heading back up to Albany, we take a look at one of my favorite 2027 Prospects, in CBA-Albany’s JT Vogel JT Vogel 6'3" | 200 lbs | DB CBA-Albany | 2027 State NY . The 6’3″ 200-Pound Defensive Back, has an elite frame for the Position. Vogel I like better at the Safety Position, but he shows the versatility to play as a Corner.

Vogel is a vocal leader, and is consistently calling out plays from the Safety Position. Vogel has an elite IQ, and plays a major role in the Success of the Brother’s Defense. Vogel is a two way playmaker, who has elite speed, and can take off with a quick burst at the snap off a finger. He is a ball hawk who always finds himself involved in a big defensive play.

Vogel has a special ability to play near the line of scrimmage. He’s best used as a sort of box safety that can also drop back into coverage. His big frame helps him get off blocks in the trenches and finish tackles. He’s aggressive at the point of attack. He’s got good instincts while playing in space as a DB. Shows some wiggle with the ball in his hands. But it’s really his size and ability at the line of scrimmage that makes him stand out, it’s rare to find an athlete at this age with size and natural instincts to navigate the line of scrimmage.

In our last trip to Albany, we saw Vogel as a physical vocal leader. The DB/ATH, had himself an outstanding game Friday night. An easy Interception, that came his way, along with a TD reception were highlights for the CBA-Albany ATH. Vogel had outstanding coverage skills all game, tracking the ball, and reading the QB, to make the correct play and read. He is extremely versatile, and can play any position needed across the field. Excellent in the return game, and creates a dual-headed return threat with Coffil.

Standing at 6’2″ 185-Pounds, JT Vogel JT Vogel 6'3" | 200 lbs | DB CBA-Albany | 2027 State NY displays a solid build for a DB. The CBA-Syracuse prospect can also lineup at WR.

He is an athletic prospect who reads a QB and offense well. As a Sophomore he racked up over 100 tackles with 7 Pass Breakups and 3 Interceptions. He has excellent vision and body control, giving him the ability to jump a play at any time.

Vogel is an excellent prospect, The NY Prep Redzone Staff will see in early September. I will look for Vogel to show out as he is a cornerstone to the CBA-Albany defense.
