Rowland had 311 total yards in his season-opening performance against North Wake. Despite the loss, he had 242 yards passing and three touchdowns, with the team-lead rushing at 69 yards. His top three targets in the game rank 1-3 in 1A for receiving yards after the game. We will see if he can turn it around against TMSA this week.

Rowland went 18/25 for 242 yards and three touchdowns to just on interception in his season opener on the road against North Wake, with his longest completion of the game being a 41-yard pass to Tight End Dylan Parks. He found slot receiver JoJo Arrington 8 times for 84 yards and a touchdown, RJ Dupree 3 times for 69 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Dylan Parks 5 times for 73 yards. He also led the team in rushing, with 69 yards on the ground. While they did not get the win, look for Rowland and company to bounce back this week against TMSA for the first home game since 2018.

Rowland comes to North Carolina from Georgia, and we think he can cut it here. He’s already shown himself to be dangerous with the ball in his hands, and NECP will try to get him the ball in a variety of ways this season. He’s shifty, fast, and makes smart decisions about when and where to make his cuts.

Rowland has the chance to be not only one of the top playmakers in the Eastern Carolina 1A conference, but in the entire 1A classification. He’s a two-time All-Region honoree in the state of Georgia and is a true dual-threat passer. In fact, if we’re counting yardage in other states, Rowland enters the 2026 season first in the 1A class in career passing yardage. He’s also electric with the ball in his hands, and that athletic ability has earned him multiple scholarship opportunities.
