He’s got the ability to play as a linebacker and be a free roamer at safety. His size and how he develops will determine where he plays, but Josiah will be someone to watch in 2025.

Tall and long defensive back/tight end with great ball skills. Can high-point in traffic and adjust low. Also a solid tight end whose ball skills shine as well, can long-arm defenders without getting flagged and adjust back to the ball Can elude blockers on the perimeter and land some big hits against the run.

Pouncy is a player who burst onto the scene in his sophomore season. At 6’3 200 pounds he has the frame and athleticism to be a versatile weapon on defense. He has the speed and athleticism to play defensive back, and he also has the size and strength to play linebacker. How he continues to develop physically will determine what position he ends up playing at the next level. Right now, I like him as a big safety who can roam in the defensive backfield and make plays., He’s comfortable in space and possesses good instincts and ball skills. Josiah already has picked up a handful of MAC offers and I think this offseason he’lll start to get P4 interest.

Pouncy is the kind of long and fluid athlete that college defenses need in 2025. His combination of size and athleticism make him a great fit for either the safety or hybrid linebacker position at the next level. His versatility to be able to play the run as well as cover in zone or man will make him a nice chess piece for defensive coordinators at the next level.
This offseason Pouncy has picked up offers from Kent State, Toledo, and Miami (OH). This camp season will be a big opportunity for Josiah to go out and show his length and athleticism in front of college coaches. I would be surprised if he didn’t pick up more d
