About Joseph

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an agile and quick-thinking player who can run the ball in the backfield and catch passes. As I am entering my sophomore year of high school, I have been successful at maintaining a 3.7 GPA. Although I do specialize in the backfield, I can be utilized on the defensive side of the ball as a lockdown Cornerback or Free Safety.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very coachable athlete who is quick learning and always striving to improve to the higher level.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

As I am entering my sophomore year, I have received three varsity letters and a rookie of the year award for track and field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I see myself as a quiet leader, I am one to put myself out there and help my team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My most recent challenge was overcoming a severe case of pneumonia that left me immobile in the hospital for two weeks. Since then, I have put nearly 22 lbs. of weight and gained a lot of gratitude. I have spent the last two months since my discharge working diligently at improving my physical and wellbeing as well as focusing daily on the little things to perfect my crafts.

A top performer from PrepRedzones Stock-Up Showcase in December, Sylvester put together some impressive film from last fall and it’s easy to see how his stock continues to rise. On Sylvester’s tape, he puts in WORK between the tackles. He does a great job of exploding through the line of scrimmage and he rapidly picks up speed once he hits that second level. He’s got quick feet and can tiptoe through tight holes on the LOS and when he pumps his legs through contact he proves incredibly difficult to bring down. Keep an eye out for Sylvester in 2025, he’s easily on breakout watch.
