How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am a strong WR who runs crisp routes and has great hands. I'm not the fastest nor the tallest, but I know how to find space and get leverage on defensive players to get open and catch the ball. My play style is that of Wes Welker and Ladd McConkey.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Here is what is on my hudl page: "I'm a team player who works hard in the weight room, classroom, and on the field. Whether it is the first team or the scout team, I'll run it to help us win." My dad has been a high school coach for 25+ years. I have been raised as a team player and hard worker so adversity doesn't shut me down. I learn from it and get better.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I participate in our school's graphic arts group. I won an award for my creativity and design with computer graphics. I am also in the National Junior Honor Society.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
This past year, I was a starter as a sophomore, and we had to replace four starting WRs from our State Championship team. During the off-season and season, I would take all of the WRs and work with them on the plays and route tree so that we all would be on the same page. I learned how to talk to my teammates, no matter their age, to motivate, encourage, or teach without sounding negative.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
In freshmen year I was slated to start at RB because of some injuries to our seniors. 2 days before our game I was helping on scout team and took a hit by accident from our NT who hyper-flexed my back and I strained all of back muscles. I was out for 5 weeks. Once cleared I had to work twice as hard to rehab my back, hips, and knees to get back to where I was.
What type of college are you looking for?
Any college that sees my talent and hard work. As well as will also allow me to compete to play.

If you’re looking for a receiver in the Class of 2027 who could flirt with some big offensive numbers this coming fall, Houpt might just be your guy. As a sophomore, he led the Eagles in receptions (65) and yards (784). Clearly, he and big quarterback Reid McCollumReidMcCollum

have formed a bond. Considering the team’s other two 500-yard receivers graduated, and Houpt might just have a monster season.
How does he do it? Houpt is active in a passing game that loves to freelance. McCollum breaks the pocket, linebackers suck in knowing he’s a threat to run and it buys Houpt more than enough time to find an opening. Add in an ability to catch the ball away from his body, and the numbers tend to stack up quickly.
