Jordan Slye
About Jordan
Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Slye looks more muscular than when I saw him at this event last year and he had another great day with a case for MVP. He is physical in man coverage and has good recovery length if he gets beat initially. Slye can reroute receivers and has good hip fluidity, transitioning from his backpedal to his sprint nicely. He projects as a corner but I can see him being an effective nickel as well.

Slye is early in his recruitment and is far from narrowing down his list of schools, but Cal, USC and Washington have been in on him. He is visiting Arizona and UCLA in the coming weeks.

Slye had 24 tackles with two interceptions for Salesian last year.
He had an excellent camp season last year and was a top performer at the Under Armour Next camp and the National Preps Showcase. His feet are quick, he is fluid with his hips and can stay in the hip pocket of receivers throughout the route.

Slye was a standout at the National Preps Showcase and followed it with another strong performance a week later. His feet are quick and his hip mobility is excellent for a freshman. He was with the receivers with every step and wasn’t biting on any double moves.

Slye is one of the top two-way athletes across the entire state in the 2028 class, and is both an elite level corner and explosive/true vertical threat at receiver. He has natural ball skills, is a long strider in the open field and has a big catch radius while able to create separation againt man coverage. He has twitch off the line and is explosive in his first few steps while able to run a variety of in-breaking and out-breaking routes and is extremely effective after the catch. From his corner position, he has tremendous, natural instincts, brakes quickly to the ball and is physical near the line with recovery length and speed downfield. He currently holds offers from Cal, USC, SDSU, SJSU Colorado State, UConn and Sac State.
