Although they lost the game, I came away most impressed with Ask. He is an excellent all-around player and the best player on the field that night. He has an accurate arm and is an athlete, running the ball on scrambles and designed runs. Early, he hit a crossing route for a first down. Then, he used his legs on a designed quarterback draw to pick up nine yards. During his best run, Ask showed his speed around the edge. He broke multiple tackles and kept his balance down the sidelines for a big gain. After a one-yard touchdown run, Ask improvised on a 15-yard scramble for a first down. Then, he completed a pass into the middle of the field. He hit a receiver in stride on a crossing route. He had a SportsCenter top play nominee when two guys had him lined up for a sack. Ask spun out of the sure sack and lobbed a pass down the sidelines for a 44-yard touchdown. On a more conventional pass play, he hit another completion down the sidelines for thirty yards.
