About John

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a disciplined and aggressive defensive end who is where I am supposed to be when I am supposed to be there. I pride myself on reading the play and tendencies of my opponents and being able to anticipate where the ball is going.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel that I am a tough competitor that focuses on the play at hand and getting better everyday. I am never satisfied with my gameplay and consider myself a student of the game. I feel like I am patient, persistent, and relentless in pursuit of the ball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Beta Club Honor Roll Church Youth Group Volunteer for a program supplying mattresses and furniture to the less fortunate in my community

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel like I lead by example and show my teammates that hard work and working together is the way to be successful. I am a quiet, yet strong, leader that my peers respect.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The biggest challenge I have faced in my athletic career has been the amount of patience I have had to have to work through barely playing during Covid and then the following two seasons my school didn't have a JV team. In these years, my work ethic and perseverance never wavered and I kept my goals in mind. I practiced hard everyday and now the benefits are showing.

What type of college are you looking for?

Small to medium sized college Colleges with business or education programs Within 3 hours of my home, so that includes all of South Carolina and parts of western North Carolina
