About John

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel like my first strength is the ability to see the field and recognize the offensive play early in order to put myself in position to make a play on the ball. When I get to the ball, I am aggressive and physical. Im an all-around player who can also play in either zone or man pass coverage and get my hands on the ball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the field, Im locked in and intense. Off the field, I enjoy hanging out with my friends playing basketball and Xbox together. Going to Church and prayer are priorities in my life.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I enjoy spending my free time mentoring and playing sports with children who have special needs at the Madonna Learning Center. Last year the students honored me as one of their favorite volunteers.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have a strong presence in the locker room. My teammates lean on me for leadership, encouragement, focus. I take responsibility for helping my teammates with the mental aspect of football, from the individual specifics of the game plan to the competitive mind set for pre-game through all four quarters.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I broke my collarbone in the jamboree before my Sophomore season. I had to work hard to get healthy, fight for my spot back, and find ways to get on the Varsity field. I was determined to contribute to my team, and the coaches designed specific packages on both offense and defense to get me on the field to make plays when I was cleared to play again.

What type of college are you looking for?

Im just looking for a place that feels like home where I can grow as a person and a player.
