Joey had a great Sophomore season in 2023. His great play made him an All-State selection and he helped the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals to an 8-win season where they held opposing offenses to 18.9 points per game. He plays an OLB. Against the run, he exhibits very good quickness off the ball and plays with excellent range and instincts taking the correct angle in pursuit before making the tackle behind the LOS preventing a TD. Against the pass, he is explosive and displays very good use of hands, play strength and physical toughness as he disengages from the OT. He shows very good closing speed in pursuit before finishing up with a sack.
