About Joel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a 2027 dual threat QB looking to play at the next level. Long passes, slants, and rushing are all part of my capabilities. I help lead the team and motivate them in the best and toughest positions.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I help lead the team and motivate them in the best and toughest positions. I am dedicated to football (varsity and club level) and also play varsity basketball, baseball and track. I am athletic and will get the job done for you.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Legacy 7 on 7 2023, 2024 and 2025 in Brighton, MI

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have played quarterback since 3rd grade and have always been a leader on the football field, baseball field and basketball court. I played travel basketball for 4 years as well and helped turn the team (Michigan Titans) around in terms of moving the ball around and working together as a team to get the win. I also started playing Varsity basketball as a sophomore.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In 2019 my aunt passed away who I was very close to and shortly after my 1 year old cousin passed unexpectedly. It has taught me that life is short and I need to make the most of it and use my talents wisely.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking to play at the division 1 or 2 level as a quarterback, ideally in Michigan or the MAC.

A small-school QB who can sling it! Last Fall, Joel led Leslie to a 10-2 record and State Championship contention. His highlights are full of great intermediate-deep throws, impossible for most D7 DBs to defend. Most of his passing highlights are to open receivers. But, I will say, Joel finds these open receivers quickly. Plus, he has the arm needed to get the ball to the intended destination quickly.

On top of that, Joel has a handful of rushing/scramble highlights. I don’t think he has the athletic upside to be a dual-threat in college, but Joel does a great job of running north-south and dealing damage at the high school level. Great stuff from Joel and a potential D3 prospect!
