Fugate is an intriguing defensive back who seems to be around the football more often than not. He’s a smart player with good instincts, and those traits consistently put him in a position to make plays. He shows good closing speed when driving on the ball and does a nice job coming to balance in the open field, allowing him to finish tackles instead of flying past the play. He plays under control and trusts what he sees. Not every defensive back wins with elite measurables.
