Barrett is one of the top defensive backs in the northern California region and held two offers from Air Force and Cornell before committing to the Falcons and taking his talents to the Mountain West. He checks in as a top 35 defensive back across the state and just inside the top 275 overall within California, and deservingly so. He is a big and physical kid that can win near the LOS and plays with patience before breaking on the ball while showing good PBU abilities, recovery length and can come up and set the edge in run support as well while a sure open field tackler. Look for Barrett to be atop some big time accolades come January when All-League/All-Section teams start coming out as he should have a huge year for the Padres this Fall.
