Jerimyah Shearer Jerimyah Shearer 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Trigg County | 2024 State KY is one of the best DB prospects in the state 3A class at accurately reading the QB before the ball has been thrown. Shearer, a 5’10 175lb 2024 grad from Trigg County High School, had a productive 2022 season on the defensive side as he caught 5 interceptions in 11 games played. As I mentioned before, what makes Shearer a lockdown defender is his ability to predict the outcome of the drawn play. When he is reading the quarterback, Shearer can depict where his intentions are at throwing the ball and if it is coming to him, he can always position himself at the right place to attempt to prevent the completion. With his freakish athleticism and high vertical, Shearer can get up high for deep passes on go routes, which allows him to sag off a little on the receiver and still make an interception. Another trait from his precise predictions on the plays drawn by the offense is his stellar tackling ability. Shearer possesses excellent tackling mechanics and knows where and when to strike an incoming runner to inflict the strongest takedown possible while simultaneously attempting to knock the football out. Shearer possesses a lot of traits many DB prospects do not traditionally inherit. I expect him to further develop his game to the point that he will be receiving numerous offers and interest from schools. As of now, Shearer has not announced any camp invites or offers from any schools.

Next up on my 3A All-State Team is junior defensive back Jerimyah Shearer Jerimyah Shearer 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Trigg County | 2024 State KY from Trigg County. Shearer had an impressive regular season at the outside corner spot, finishing with 22 total tackles and five interceptions. He showed that he is very reliable in man coverage, using his speed to run with receivers in the deep passing game. When the ball was thrown his way, he showed the athletic ability and ball skills to get his body turned and go up to come away with interceptions at their highest point. He also showed the ability to come downhill when the pass was thrown short and make tackles in the open field before the receiver could get up the field after the catch. Shearer also played a key role on offense, finishing the year third on the team in receiving. Jerimyah doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect him to be a player that college coaches will be paying very close attention to going into his senior year.
