Winchest is a two-way performer (cornerback and running back) whose highlights show good speed and a strong feel for the game on both sides of the football. He currently is on the smaller side, but his playing ability isn’t. At running back, Winchester shows an immediate burst on handoffs in the red zone and gets to the edge fast. His long speed looks good, as evidenced by his 70-plus yard touchdown run, where he had to outrun defenders for the last 40-plus yards. Looks effective on perimeter runs and sweeps. I like Winchester’s cutback ability as well in the red zone.
At the cornerback position, he hauls in multiple interceptions in different coverages (Cover 3 and quarters). Winchester reads the eyes of the quarterbacks and reacts to the ball when it’s in the air. He looks comfortable in zone coverage and in space.
It’s way too early to figure out where he’ll end up. As a defensive back, I would like to see more film of him in man coverage. As a running back, more film is needed to see how he works in between the tackles
Winchester is a versatile defensive back with offensive value. He impacts the game in multiple ways.
