Mendez is a new name to me and he had a solid breakout campaign as a sophomore, leading Maryvale with 6 sacks on the season. He is a standup EDGE rusher that uses his hands well and has a good sized wingspan to shed blockers. He has the intangibles needed to be a playmaker and with two more seasons, he could gain that extra muscle to be a solid collegiate recruit.
