The Red Devils will have a big physical running back to hand it off to again this season in 2025 RB/LB JD Mauritz JD Mauritz JD Mauritz 6'0" | 205 lbs | EDGE Oak Hill | 2025 State WV . The 6’0 205 bruiser rushed for 1,200 yards as a junior last season and will return to lead their rushing attack again in 2024. He’s a stout one-cut-and-go runner who rarely goes down on first contact but is nimble enough to sidestep defenders too. Mauritz runs behind his pads well and is not someone you want to meet with a full head of steam coming at you. He has the speed to separate from defenders in the open field at times and is explosive through the hole.

Linebacker is likely his future but without any film of that position, it’s tough to determine his ceiling at that spot. However, he’s a definite D2-level prospect and should see attention from programs of that level this season if he hasn’t already.
