A physically-gifted tight end from Southeast Georgia who will see a significant bump in the next Prep Redzone rankings, Wessel is a physical pass-catcher who is really tough to bring down after the catch. He may not have played against the best competition, but Wessel was consistently the best player on the field last season and has seen his recruitment really take off this winter. The big 6-foot-6 235-pounder uses his size and natural athleticism to make defenders look silly, catching 18 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns while being dependable when blocking in the run.
