Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Pleasant has quietly developed for Portage and should be a leader for them defensively. He’ll be a 4-year Varsity player when he graduates. Last season was decent, but there’s room to grow. He’s great in the second level and can defend like a DB. He’ll stay with his guy and run stride for stride with them. He’ll make a play on the ball when he can and make something out of it. His 46 tackles, 5 TFLs, 2 sacks, and a pair of interceptions showcase his versatility heading into his senior year.

Pleasant hits bigger than his 5-foot-11 size would indicate. He is very twitchy, instinctive, and hits with thump, and is a very disruptive pass rusher.

The light has begun to click for Pleasant and he’s got the potential to be a good one. He’s got a decent frame that can withstand the impact in the trenches. He’s got good closing speed and isn’t afraid to initiate contact. He had a game this past year where he put up 13 tackles and 1 sack and was all over the field. He’s got incredible range for an LB and should pick up quite a bit of traction here soon.
