Locke led Milwaukie to a dominant 64-0 victory over Putnam, throwing for 284 yards and six touchdowns. What made his performance even more impressive was the distribution of those scores: all six touchdown passes went to different receivers. Locke spread the ball around, kept the offense rolling, and helped the Mustangs put together a lopsided win. Six passing touchdowns are impressive on their own, but connecting with six different targets speaks to both his ability to distribute the football and the number of weapons Milwaukie brought to the matchup.

Locke quietly put together one of the best sophomore seasons in the state, throwing for 2,439 yards and 36 touchdowns while leading Milwaukie’s breakout campaign. Coach Simpson believes he deserves much more statewide recognition, and it’s easy to see why after the production he put on last season. With another offseason under his belt, he enters 2026 as one of Oregon’s most intriguing junior quarterbacks.

Locke showed significant promise as a young quarterback, earning second-team recognition after leading Milwaukie’s offense with confidence and playmaking ability. His development as a passer and decision-maker helped stabilize the offense and allowed teammates around him to succeed. Locke plays with poise beyond his years and continues to improve in reading defenses. Entering next season, he looks poised to take another major step as a leader under center.
