Byard is a versatile defensive back with the size and range to play both corner and safety. At the corner, he uses his length to take away throwing lanes and shows ball skills. His current three-game reel is highlighted by a red-zone interception where he left his man to make the play. Byard reads screens quickly and reacts with confidence, breaking up passes before receivers can gain momentum. In run support, he is physical, disengaging from blocks and finishing tackles near the sideline. When lined up at safety, Byard shows awareness and closing speed. There’s a play where he breaks low on the route, disrupts the receiver, and breaks up the pass. His ability to play multiple spots in the secondary, combined with his toughness and instincts, makes him a valuable all-around defender. Byard has a few Division I scholarship offers to choose from.

Byard shows his playmaking ability in his highlights, as evidenced by the multiple interceptions. He’s very effective at disrupting routes and contesting passes. I am also impressed with his excellent high-pointing and ball-tracking skills. He’s smart and aggressive, especially when contesting passes. Solid in press coverage, he keeps inside leverage and consistently jams receivers and states over the top of routes. Byard shows physicality in coverage. Solid in zone coverage as well, knows how to keep leverage downfield, and does a good job of keeping receivers in front of him.

Jayden was another big time playmaker for Perryville in their win this past weekend. Making plays on both sides of the ball at WR and CB. Jayden looks every big the part of a D1 player with his height/length/athleticism. He had a nice interception in 1v1 coverage down the field, in which he located the ball quicker than the WR to put himself in position to snag the pass for the pick. Jayden had a few other PBUs, some strong tackles and was basically a shut down corner all game long. On offensive he made some good plays at WR, with multiple receptions and good YAC. His long stride and fluid hips stand out on both sides of the ball. The surprise of the game on Jayden was how strong off a down field blocker he was at WR. Made multiple key blocks to spring big plays for the Perryville offense. Both stalk blocking and just running down field and laying guys out. Shows his commitment to the game and his overall physicality and strength. Jayden is a high level playmaker that is a must see 2026 prospect.

Jayden is a player who that the measurables colleges love for his position. At 6’1″ 180 he has good height with the frame, build, and length to mold into today’s prototype DB. A do it all player for Perryville last season, Jayden had over 600 total purpose yards with 7 TDs, 4 INTs on defense and made All-County. A physical and rangy DB, Mr. Byard’s best trait is his ball skills. Able to track and high point the pass, using his size, length, and athleticism to go up and snatch the ball for the interception. Jayden is also a strong tackler, will hit like a linebacker. Will hit through the ball carrier and lay the wood. He displays fluid hips and the ability to stick his foot in the ground and quickly re-direct to break on the play.

Jayden mainly plays CB on the defensive side of the ball, but with his size, physicality and rangy ball hawk ability I like him as a Safety at the next level. He has what college coaches look for and passes the look test. Jayden has Power 4 potential in my mind and with a strong junior campaign, look for Jayden to have a busy winter/spring next year.
