made his commitment to West Virginia State where the Yellow Jackets are putting together a nice 2024 class of in-state players.
McCarty was a PRZ WV Class AA Second Team All-State selection this season and finished at the #1 spot in the TE rankings after a productive senior year with the Skyhawks.
He hauled in 20 passes for 346 yards and 5 touchdowns on offense while adding 31 tackles, 6 TFLs, and two sacks on defense.

High-quality tight end prospect with nice size at 6-foot-4 and 215-pounds. Will need to add another 15-20 pounds before he sees the field at the next level. Very good run blocker which could allow him to see early playing time at the next level. Had quality production as a junior and senior as well and is only scratching the suraface in terms of his ability to be a receiveing tight end. Very good atlhete with good awareness and body control, soft strong hands.

has looked the most athletic out of the tight ends I’ve been able to watch film on at the midseason point and has made a nice impact with his new team the Scott Skyhawks. McCarty made the move to Scott for his senior season from Van and has helped them reach the 5-0 mark through the first five games of the season. McCarty’s stats won’t blow you away in the passing game but Scott has a lot of mouths to feed in their spread offense and they have several dudes at receiver taking the majority of the catches. However, McCarty has still been able to catch seven passes for 171 yards and a touchdown but had a huge breakout game last week versus Chapmanville. He had 3 catches for 134 yards and his lone touchdown in that game which may be a great sign moving forward with his production increasing. McCarty has made his biggest impact on the defensive side of the ball with 14 total tackles and two sacks.
