It would appear that sophomore quarterback Javier Velazco Javier Velazco 5'10" | 135 lbs | QB Fairfax | 2029 State VA is next in line to take control under center for the Lions. He has impressed this off-season ranking 156th overall in the 2029 class. He throws a pretty deep ball and seems to thrive moving around in the pocket. This could be a welcomed change for Fairfax offense as Velazco could be their starter for the next three seasons.

Of those featured in this specific article, I like Javier’s arm the best. He has good accuracy, can throw in stride, with good zip on the pass. He was named a Top Performer at our Dual at the DMV 7v7 Tournament earlier this year. Very well could see him rise in the QB ranking after this fall’s season.

He shows a good ability to throw the ball in tight windows. He also throws an accurate ball that he throws on time. At the 7-on-7, he was outstanding the entire day. He understands how to throw the ball in tight windows. Velazco has the tools to be an even better quarterback going forward.
