About Jaston

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I accelerate very quickly, when sprinting and into my football moves and cuts. My field vision, running abilities, & football IQ enable me to win a majority of matchups in the open field. My hands are very consistent and I have shown the capability of catching the ball while in full stride, after absorbing contact, and with little space to spare.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I believe I am the best, and am willing to do whatever I need to do to put myself in the best position to succeed athletically, mentally, physically, and general self-development. I could be viewed as cocky, by some, however, I personally think I play ball with a sense of confidence in myself and my ability to set my teammates up to succeed, as well.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the Fairfax Assembly of God Youth Group. I am an active member of the WHS Student Council (StuCo).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My leadership abilities have developed over time, particularly as I started receiving more playing time. Early on, my leadership style was leading by example, and lighting a fire within my teammates and myself.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Growing up in a one-parent household, in addition to moving back and forth from Oklahoma to Arkansas led to me developing the ability adapt to my surroundings. I have oftentimes had to do more with less. Structure is something that I lacked at home, leading to an attitude of, “I do what I want”, which has hindered my development & growth.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am open to attending any type of college to play football.
