A top 300 senior at the helm for Central Clarion. Excited to see the young man play live for the first time, the 2x All-State QB will be ready to go in a title bout against Troy on Friday afternoon. 6’0, 195 pounds. Ranked as a top 15 quarterback among all PA seniors. Offered by Clarion back in April, also offered by Grove City and Waynesburg after the stamp from the PSAC program.
Stats through October 21st*
38 Passing touchdowns, an additional 8 scores on the ground. 2,360 passing yards, another 700 rushing yards to eclipse 3k scrimmage threshold. Completed a ridiculous 75% of his passes, caught five interceptions from his DB spot as well. None of this takes into account his stellar play throughout the 2024 post-season.
An incredible offensive improviser, a kid who can turn bad situations favorable in a flash. A threat to create with his feet in scheduled runs or when plays break down. Not enough credit given his way for the type of pure athlete he is. Ferguson can make LBs/DBs miss in open space like a back, all while possessing the mental fortitude to make good decisions like the captain quarterback that he is. Tough as nails, doesn’t shy away from contact. Can operate out of heavy and spread sets. Can house direct snaps from anywhere on the field. Carries a college-ready build, the young man works on his body and it shows on the field. Has a rocket arm attached to his shoulders. Everything isn’t consistently clean in the pocket, Ferguson has footwork, mech, and release issues to clean up, yet the kid can stretch the field in a flash if you let him. Deep ball range exceeds 50+ yards. Sees downfield well, sees the middle of the field well too. Ferguson’s tape has him ripping posts easily. If Troy doesn’t make Ferguson’s life hell in the pocket, he can easily sit back and tear up a secondary, especially in 2A ball. A nightmarish two-way dominator who is ready to show off this coming Friday in front of fans and media. Excited to see what Ferguson has in store.

is a runner and a thrower of the football for Clarion. As a runner he is equally as good on designed run plays as he is scrambling around to make a play. When the play breaks down he seems at his best when he can scramble around to find someone open. In the pocket, he shows a good arm and excellent feet. He has good mechanics and a good arm. Ferguson is a good football player who knows how to make plays inside and outside the pocket.

Ferguson probably doesn’t get enough love from us at times but the Clarion-Limestone quarterback and three-sport athlete (baseball, basketball, and football) had a terrific junior season with 3,700+ yards from scrimmage including 2,698 passing yards and 868 rushing yards.
Ferguson has improved as a passer in each season of his career at Clarion-Limestone, seeing his completion percentage rise from 55.2% as a freshman to 56.2% as a sophomore, and to 63.5% as a junior this past fall. He also saw a huge dip in his interception rate this past season. After throwing 28 interceptions in his first two years combined, Ferguson saw that number drop to just seven in 2023 while scoring a combined 56 touchdowns.
Ferguson has quality size at 6-foot-0 and 185-pounds and is a good athlete with a reported 40-yard dash time of around 4.7 seconds. As a ball carrier, Ferguson is a tough runner and is tough to bring down. He’s a well built 185-pounds as one would expect with a bench press PR of 300 and a squat PR of 425. He shows quality vision both as a passer and a rusher, finding the seams in a defense to throw into and identifying potential openings on the ground. While he may not be as explosive as a Shawn Lee, there is still quite a bit of explosion and burst into his game as a runner, plenty of it to be effective at the next level.

HUDLSTATS: 79-of-119, 1,533 Yards, 28 TD, 2 INT
The junior quarterback has a very similar rise this season to Nagle’s. Ferguson who threw 28 interceptions in his first two seasons as a starting quarterback is now completing 66% of his passes while having a 14:1 TD-INT ratio. Heading into this season that was our biggest hit on Ferguson but with these stats doesn’t appear to be nearly as concerning of an issue anymore. Good athletic quarterback who can make plays happen with both his legs and his arm. Shows quality arm strength, good enough for short and intermediate routes, but will need to get stronger to hit the deep balls at a higher percentage of times. Has some promising traits overall, however and is a quarterback to watch in the 2025 recruiting class. Already has shown good signs in his development, I’m sure he’s not done either.
