Scott has been thrown into the fire early for Weiss and has responded with a level of physicality well beyond his age. At 6-foot, 285 pounds, he is powerful at the point of attack and consistently controls his gap. His ability to fire off the ball with quickness, combined with a naturally low center of gravity, makes him a leverage nightmare for offensive linemen. He also shows lateral movement skills and nimble feet that allow him to chase plays down the line. Having already started the first three games of the season, Scott looks like a foundational piece for Weiss in the trenches and projects as a high-ceiling defensive lineman down the road.

has. After dominating our camp, he went on to have a stellar year at Hopewell Middle School in Round Rock, Texas, as both a Defensive Lineman and a Running Back–believe it or not. After seeing him last year, I said he could play either Defensive End or on the interior defensive line, and it was that quickness that allowed him to play Running Back. A year later, I think he’s pretty much solidified that he’s an interior Defensive Tackle and is easily a two-gap player up front.

walking away with the MVP for the defensive linemen. I got a chance to watch Scott take rep after rep during the 1 on 1 portion of the camp and Scott went to work. Just in seventh grade, Scott already takes coaching incredibly well and used what our coaches taught to succeed while competing. Scott showcased several different moves that beat his man and got him into the backfield. As Scott continues to grow and develop, he has the chance to be a really impressive interior defensive lineman. He had a nasty streak while competing and it showed.
