Jalen is a player that has shown some real growth this past offseason. His confidence and trust in what he is doing as a defensive back has grown exponentially, it was very clear during the 1 on 1 portion of the showcase against wide receivers that he accepts and welcomes the challenge of being on the island as a cornerback. Jalen does a great job of playing through a receivers hands in one on one situations, most notably in the red zone. I think he’s got good speed, and on film he’s not afraid to come up in run support and tackle in space. Jalen also picked up an offer from Concord University shortly after the showcase!

Jalen showed some good athleticism on film from last season, especially with his ability to run support and tackle well from his corner position. I saw him up close at the CFI Carolinas Mega Showcase, and his speed and agility were a major plus in observing him operate through the agility circuit. Jalen should have a smooth transition to the Varsity squad this season, and that projection has him firmly on our Watch List. As long as Jalen works hard and stays consistent, he could find himself in the rankings by the end of the season.

Despite being undersized, Rhyne is a good tackler who can play either safety or corner. His length suggests his brightest future is at corner and his short-area quickness could allow him to shift inside and play in the slot. He’s made the most of his varsity opportunities, but hasn’t gotten much playing time so far, something that should change in 2025.
