was a wrecking crew for Mount St. Joe this past season. Spano is an EDGE rusher with a versatile skill set. In the run game, he reads and reacts quickly, highlighted by his 76 tackles on the season. He’s not just a run stopper, he also recorded 10 sacks, proving he is a force off the edge who can impact both the run and pass game. Spano currently holds two Division I offers from Kent State and Monmouth. As his film gains more exposure, expect more Division I programs to recognize Spano’s value.

Jakhai is a player who’s game really stood out to me when I saw him live in week 1 of the season. Finally colleges are starting to take notice as well as he just picked up his first FBS offer from Kent State on Halloween day.
On the season Jakhai racked up 76 total tkls, 27 tfls, 10 sacks, 7 PBUs, 1 FF, and even 1 Pick 6. Those are some great numbers on the year and I don’t know what his pressures may have been but I can guarantee it was high. He is an edge defender also in the backfield and always disrupting plays. His impact on plays is higher even than his recorded stats. Jakhai plays fast and physical, gets all over the field and plays with power & athleticism.
I would not surprise me if this was not his only offer that comes Jakhai’s way this winter. He has P4 potential and will be a player on many colleges boards this spring.
blessed to receive my first division 1 FBS offer from kent state #agtg @CoachDan_Y @EdOBrienCFB @MSJ_Football pic.twitter.com/XtzoH4VQo1

flashed his playmaking ability in a hard-fought defensive battle, consistently finding his way to the football in the run game. Playing with a relentless motor, Spano fought through blocks to make stops and recorded multiple tackles for loss, including an impressive play where he met the running back in the backfield. His combination of effort, strength, and quick diagnosis makes him a rising defensive presence to watch as the season unfolds.

Jakhai was all over the field Friday night in MSJ’s last second 10-7 win over Bullis. Was a defensive game and Spano was a big reason why the Bullis offense was kept in check. He lined up at multiple spots for MSJ during the game. From having his hand in the dirt at DE, to a stand up edge and even as an off ball LB.
Jakhai was a force all game long playing fast and physical. He made a nice tackle in space on a QB scramble, showing the ability to open up / break down and close on the ball. Had nice bend and burst off the snap from DE spot. Showed the ability to take on blockers, shed them off and find the ball quickly. Was impressed from what I saw in Jakhai in game one of the year and can’t wait to see more of him this season. I do think in time he will grow into being a DE full time. Don’t be surprised if Jakhai starts picking up some interest from colleges from the P4 to FCS level if he continues to play at this level this fall.

Spano made 61 total tackles (21 tackles for a loss), sacked the quarterback six times, and pressured the quarterback 14 times. He plays with great leverage and is allowed to attack the defensive from different angles, making it hard for offenses to know where he’s coming from. He’s a solid tackler and does a great job of shooting the gaps when lined up in the linebacker position.
What I’m looking to see from him this season: There’s no doubt that he’s a disruptor in the backfield (21 tackles for a loss). I’d like to see him become more explosive coming out of his stance and when he’s chasing down ball carriers. Spano is excellent at holding the edge, and he has a high motor. He is good, but more explosiveness will make him special.
