About Jake

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a leader who is always wanting to play to win and who will influence my team to do the same in words and actions. All glory to God. I am strong and powerful. My protection of the quarterback is very personal to me. When playing guard or tackle, I will attack of the line and love to run block or create running lanes. I’m tall, athletic and agile as a multi sport athlete.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to give 100% of myself to my team. I work very hard on and off the field. I train year around to be the best I can be for God, my team and our program. I am committed to WA’s success and my love of my teammates. Being an only child, I appreciate my brothers and showing up for them daily in practice and in games. My personality is described as positive, motivated,humble and hungry.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a part of Student Council, WA Ambassador Program, Photo Club, Youth Group, Chapelstreet VBS teacher, Youth Power Coach, Youth Head Coach for FCA Force Football and Basketball.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Skills and qualities I have developed and executed are: leadership, compassion, integrity, courage, gratitude, and resilience. As a Dyslexic thinker, I’m able to see the big picture before others and that helps me lead others there.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Being a Dyslexic, I’ve worked harder than others everyday in every class. Learning and excellence is personal to me, my God and my family. I won’t have something or someone say I can’t learn. So I work harder and longer. Also, I didn’t play football until 8th grade. I had to learn under fire and be committed to in season and outside of it everyday.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to attend a college/for coaches who want & believe in me, where they can see me as part of the program vision (now and later), know my potential, will stay with me as I grow, work for it, where I can get a great education, where I can play and be a difference maker and a contributor, and I want to win a championship. I know everyone says that. I want to work for all of those and earn them.
