About Jake

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am the kind of player who changes the game the moment I touch the ball. Lightning-quick off the snap, exploding through gaps before defenders can react, turning routine plays into highlight-reel moments. I am often met by multiple defenders and I love an opportunity to flip momentum and score points.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have the reputation of being very coachable, smart, competitive, hard-working, and a true team player. I'll do whatever it takes to win!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a projected Valedictorian for the class of 2026. I am an active member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, and Anchor Club, as well as an active member of my church, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. I have received top 10% of my class for 3 years, was selected as Elks Teen of the Month for September, and received the Farm Bureau Student of the Month in August.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

This year I was selected by my team as a team captain and voted by my coaches for the "Warhorse Award". Both of these accolades represent everything I stand for. I pride myself on being a loyal team member, am a hard worker by nature, but know the importance of being a leader on the field, in the classroom, and within my community. I set the standard for my teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My freshman season was cut short on game one from a clavicle break followed by the same injury at my 8 week return. I fought back year 2 and prepared for a breakout season 3. In game 7, I endured a season ending injury with a rare (4% chance) MCL detachment. After surgery, rehab, and a coach turnover, I returned for my senior season. I'm healthier and stronger now than ever.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'd prefer a D1 or D2 school in the state of Tennessee or surrounding areas. I am looking for an offense that values wide receivers. I am hardworking, competitive, and up for a challenge! I WANT the ball and WANT to be a playmaker.

Goodin took over games on both offense and defense. His athleticism was on full display on both sides off the ball. In coverage, he proved to have fluid hips and the speed to run with anybody, helping him to account for multiple PBUs and undercut a corner route for a crucial interception. On offense, defenses rarely had an answer for him, as he created explosive plays on the outside, in the slot, and from the backfield. He can win one on one against any defender and caught multiple touchdowns in almost every game. Jake stated that he participated in this tournament as a senior to gain exposure and hopefully receive an opportunity to play at the next level this fall.

Another playmaker that stood out was Jake Goodin Jake Goodin Jake Goodin 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR/DB McMinn Central | 2026 TN , a wide receiver for Tennessee Brigade 18U that was making the big plays all weekend long. Goodin’s explosiveness off the snap and ability to get off the ground to make the touchdown catch made a huge difference all weekend long. I also really liked Goodin’s footwork in the endzone, showcasing his ability to juke out the defense and get wide open for the pass.

Also making a difference was Jake Goodin Jake Goodin Jake Goodin 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR/DB McMinn Central | 2026 TN , a wide receiver/defensive back for Tennessee Brigade 18U that had an outstanding afternoon on the offensive end. Goodin impressed at several moments, hauling in several touchdown passes. On top of great speed off the snap, I liked how Goodin could beat the defense to the ball and get off the ground to make the clutch catch.
