This was my first time seeing Jake in person, but what I saw on film was absolutely consistent with what I saw from him on Sunday. He has started to gain some real traction on the recruiting trail with Ivy and MAC schools, and it’s easy to see why.

-Athletic but strong build, with room to continue to be molded

-True athletic, was able to move with light feet

-Powerful lower half that allows him to explode from his stance with a strong first step

-Could be a sleeper P4 guy if he gets out to some camps this spring

Northwood already sent out an offer, and it’s easy to see why. Jake has the size and fundamentals to be a very good Division 2 prospect.

I’m most impressed with Jake’s agility. He’s an absolute freight train in open space, moving quickly and plowing any defender in his path. In the passing game, Jake does a good job staying square and anchoring. There are a few minor nitpicks here and there, but I don’t see anything major that would dissuade D2s from taking a very close look. I’m fully expecting Jake to earn more Division 2 offers in the coming months.

As I said earlier, measurables go a long way. Jake is a tall, big offensive tackle with decent agility and flashes of power on tape. His tape showcases consistent effort through the whistle. In other words, he finishes his blocks, which is another extreme bright spot. Jake does need to improve regarding footwork, in addition to other fundamentals. Though, considering his size and tape, I’d be shocked if he didn’t find luck in the recruiting space this offseason.
