About Jackson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

We run an option read offense with pro style mixed in. Both in shotgun and under center.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a calm and collective person that thrives under pressure. My QB coach and mentor had me read Chop wood carry water over the summer. It has made me think more about the process and not just the initial results. I know that to be successful it will take a lot of work and dedication and it does not come over night.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

FBLA, FCCLA. Top student in both English and Math class awards.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the past year I have stepped up as a team leader. Being the starting QB, teammates look to me for answers. I started training with Taylor Powell last summer and we have kept in touch while he has been in Canada playing in the CFL. I looked forward to continuing our training this off season. I also help out with youth sports in my community when I can.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This season I had a close friend tragically pass away in a car accident on her way to school. it brought back so many bad memories of my uncle passing away a few years ago, also from a car accident. That incident took a lot out of me. We went out the next night and played awful the first half of the game. We talked at halftime and although we didn't come back and win the game, we did win the half.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go somewhere with a coaching staff that is ready to teach. I want to learn and get better. Be able to sit down with coach and watch film and talk through things. I want to go somewhere with a good strength and conditioning coach, stronger and faster. Education is very important to me, I want opportunities after college.
