Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
It was an impressive day 1 for Solley, who is ranked as a top 10 QB in Pennsylvania here in Prep Redzone. I thought he was a well-developed player who stood out from a physical standpoint, built well into his frame. He is already a natural arm talent with the zip on the ball to push it vertically, but his quick release allows him to attack tight windows. Not much to overthink here. He is big, a solid athlete, and has an arm capable of pushing the ball down the field. Definitely see flashes of a D1 QB prospect, both in person and on tape.

Solley was one of a few solid PA QBs who came down to compete over the weekend. On day 1 specifically, I really thought he turned heads. Similar to Cater, Solley was an early eye-catcher of a long run of D1 caliber QBs that proved. He is all of 6’2 190, and given his physical traits and clean mechanics, the ball just looked different coming off his hand. Every throw was achievable for this kid, and he did so while operating under control and staying in the moment. He is ranked highly by us up in PA, making him someone to continue monitoring.

- 6’2, 190 pounds. Love to learn that Solley has been adding some weight to his frame, will bode well from a recruiting perspective. One of my favorite QB prospects among PA 2027s.
- Solley’s rank is likely to climb back into the Top 100 after further film study, yet many of the things I witnessed on tape hammer home what was already thought about Solley previously. Consistency is key at the QB position, putting ample tape for coaches to watch for a steady period of time helps QBs gain a step ahead in a world littered with talented passers. Played in nine games for Episcopal Academy this past Fall. Completed 70% of his passes for 15 scores and just three interceptions throughout that span. First rep on tape is a beauty, it proves Solley’s Division One ceiling IMO. Working a three-step drop out of a spread-gun look with minimal hitch, Solley drops a perfect pass leading his target(nine route) away from safety help after an inside release at the LOS. This while eating A-gap penetration in the pocket. Phenomenal first rep. Solley continues to push out elite reps as his tape continues, again further proving his elite accuracy, depth perception, and anticipation skills. Simply put, Solley has made it undeniable at this point, he will not move from the top tier of 2027 PA QBs moving forward. Talking recruiting, it’s only a matter of finding the right fit at this point and staying patient. Good things will come so long as he continues to pump out film like this and stay positive in the classroom. Exciting stuff below.

Solley has a great arm and showcased serious zip. He attacks the sidelines well and can throw a good fade ball down on the goal line. He’s been able to make passes in the redzone while on the run and can throw across his body to score points.

has some of the best accuracy of this group. Early on watching his tape my jaw is dropping further after every clip. He just throws lasers for a lack of a better term, everything is thrown with the zip and precision you want in a D1 Quarterback. He has some mobility and can become a playmaker out of the pocket, but he thrives more throwing in the pocket being a field general rather than a “gamer”. Solley has some interests (Towson + San Diego State) but I really can’t see why someone has yet to pull the trigger, this is a division 1 kid plain and simple.

a 6’2″ quarterback that plays at Upper Merion High School. He is the number 17th ranked quarterback in state of Pennsylvania. Its without any doubt he was the best QB all weekend for the High School 18u divison. He led his team, “SWAG 7v7” to an undefeated 3-0 record during pool play on Saturday, followed up by another undefeated 3-0 day on Sunday earning his team the High School division championship. It seemed as if every time i was watching this young man throw the ball it was for a big play or a deep touchdown. He was shredding defenses all weekend long. I loved his ability to not get lazy in the pocket, making it a point on every snap to work his footwork on his drop backs. Something you love to see a Quarterback do especially in a 7v7 setting. He showed excellent touch and rhythm in his throws. Almost every throw it seemed as if he knew exactly where he would go with the ball. His ability to move defenders with his eyes to free up receivers and make pin point throws was a strong talent that you can easily pick up on. Although, I dont know how many touchdown passes Solley threw i would be willing to bet he led the tournament in that category. I had him as my tournament MVP. Big junior season ahead for this young man. He has some years to fill into his frame and that can easily align him as a Division 1 prospect with his height he already has.

- 6’2, 175
Boasts a six-minute tape on Hudl. Tape opens up with a smooth drop, Solley’s eyes are where they are supposed to be, he sees the nine open and hits his target in stride. First rep shows he can attack vertically without a steep hitch. Works out of 10 personnel often, Solley’s second rep on tape replicates his first, this time showing off a bit of touch/tempo in his pass trajectory. Good depth perception shown attacking nines downfield. 6’2, 175, carries the ideal QB frame and is just a sophomore. Like when UM deploys 11 personnel, Solley can sprint out and deliver accurate balls on the go, not a pocket statue. Has a goal-line QB keep that goes for a score from about 10 yards out. I argue that his best rep on tape comes at the 54-second mark. Solley catches the snap, faces imminent pressure from both edges, stays in the pocket, throws with anticipation, and delivers a catchable ball against a closed middle of the field. More reps like this and Solley will stay inside our Top150 moving forward. Like the less flashy reps later on tape, shows he can catch the snap, quickly key his key defender, and make accurate passes inside of 10/15 yards. Great tape heading into his junior year at Upper Merion.
