It was probably a forgone conclusion that we would cover Jersey’s top rated quarterback, State Gatorade Player of the Year, and record shatterer Jack Moran Jack Moran 6'5" | 225 lbs | QB The Hun School | 2025 State NJ . The thing that impressed me the most about Moran – and believe me, there was a lot – was how effortlessly and accurately he can throw across his body when moving to the left without setting his feet. For as natural and impressive as this is, when scrambling to his right, we find that Moran works his shoulders back perpendicular to the line of scrimmage, preferring to throw it and saving a scramble for his last resort. Additionally, he is athletic to the point where he can duck and evade free rushers with a full head of steam while getting his eyes back downfield to deliver strikes. He is very good at evading rushers with both a head of steam and who beat their matchup, showing pristine pocket presence. The longest throw I saw had vertical air distance of about 50 yards, but was an absolutely deliver a dime on the money to his receivers shoulder. Moran also seems confident in his pre-snap reads and gets the ball out very quickly after it is snapped. Finally, and perhaps what his receivers love most about him, is that For as natural and impressive as does not expose his receivers to unnecessary contact.

Jack Moran Jack Moran 6'5" | 225 lbs | QB The Hun School | 2025 State NJ from the Hun School has stormed the New Jersey high school football scene. His impressive start to the season has garnered attention from across the nation, with some pundits even ranking him among the top quarterbacks in the country. At one point, Moran led the nation in passing yards, and he currently sits at 1,771 yards, good for 10th in the U.S. and first in New Jersey. He’s also thrown 18 touchdowns, making him the top passer in his division.
What sets Jack apart is his physical presence. At 6’4” or 6’5” and 215 pounds, he already has the size and build of an NFL quarterback. He can access all field areas, whether pushing the ball deep downfield or driving throws into the seams. His arm strength and field vision make him dangerous in every situation. However, there’s room for growth, particularly in his ability to evade pressure and make intelligent decisions under duress. That’s an area where he’ll need to develop further to reach his full potential.
One critique of Moran’s season is that the Hun School often faces out-of-state competition, so New Jersey’s best teams don’t consistently test him. Still, there’s no denying his talent. Committed to the University of Charlotte, Moran has shown all the traits you’d want in a top quarterback prospect. His ceiling is incredibly high if he can fine-tune his decision-making and pocket presence.

, is a force to be reckoned with. The gunslinger from my favorite team in the entire state led a 42-38 victory over Chicago Mt. Carmel. Throwing for an astonishing 517 yards and 5 touchdowns, Jack commanded an electric offense as they marched downfield with little resistance. Jack has the dimensions that every collegiate program can only dream of having on their roster. Standing at 6’5″ and 225lb, Jack towers over his competition. He can stand comfortably in the pocket and see over his offensive line, allowing him to take in the whole field and dissect the defense at will. Jack is one of those QBs that has perfected his craft and mastered the mechanics of an elite passer. The Hun School may have an undefeated season on the horizon. The entire offense had a field day as well last weekend as top receiving targets
