Jones is a force on Bethesda Academy’s defense who can wreak havoc off the edge and drop into coverage. Offenses struggle to block him in pass pro due to his speed and violent hands when blitzing off the edge. He does a phenomenal job of disguising his blitz by creeping late and timing the snap to rush the passer. This makes him an extremely effective force player as well, destroying perimeter blocks with the same speed and physicality to tackle ball carriers or receivers in the backfield. He disrupts the pass game in coverage as well. His eyes are disciplined in zone coverage, never chasing routes that leave his zone, and quickly identifying the next route entering. This helped him to catch multiple interceptions underneath of routes.

A versatile defender who can play linebacker or defensive back, Jones is a sure-tackling prospect in Savannah who shows strong instincts, toughness, and the ability to make plays in coverage. He runs well and is coming off a very productive sophomore season for the powerful Benedictine Cadets where he made 101 tackles, five TFLs and three sacks. One of the top 2027 defenders in the area, Jones flashed D1-caliber talent and should only be better later this fall as a junior. If he does, look for offers to come flying in his way.

In a similar vein to Xzavier Pfister, Jones was another prospect I was anxiously anticipating getting to see play live. At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, his build alone was intriguing but he also ran a 4.8 at tryouts. Come the actual Future Stars Game practices he was really, really impressive. His length, forward lean and build was notable. He was lined up on the outside and regularly blew past cornerback’s on deep routes. On top of speed, he had a pair of consistent hands that he used to haul in balls throughout the week of practice.
