About Isaiah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Powerful arm/accurate passer, strong powerful runner, aggressive defense, high football I.Q. 6’2”, 225, 310 bench, 425 squat and deadlift, 255 power clean, and 4.78 40-yard dash

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My faith is first and foremost. I am extremely hard working and committed to my responsibilities and teammates on and off the field. I am a humble person who believes that character matters most. I have a resilient/never quit attitude and I am fully invested in anything I am a part of.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the National Honor Society, I compete in FBLA (National Qualifier/Competitor), serve on Student Council and FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), and I perform in all plays and musicals.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have over 120 hrs of community service and serve as a mentor in our local Kinship chapter. I am a captain in all sports, even though I am only a junior. I believe character, on and off of the field is the most important thing. I am a servant leader and believe that being humble and celebrating others’ successes is the mark of a strong leader.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This past year I went through the most difficult thing in my life in my family. We are an extremely close family and my father and I have a great relationship…he is one of my mentors. In April of this last year my dad got sick from STREP throat and ended up being intubated for over 19 days and was in the hospital for over a month. The doctors told us that he wasn’t going to make it, but he did!

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a chance to compete at the D1 or D2 level at a college that has a great business program and a great fan base! It is important to me that whatever program I am a part of values character and cares deeply for the athletes that are a part of the program. I am also looking to be a part of a program with a strong brotherhood and a desire to push one another to compete at the highest!

One of my favorite new recruits on my radar is the small school product out of Unity HS. Isaiah spent time at TE and QB during his junior season. The 6’2″ 225 lbs athlete quickly found success at both because of the physical tools he is blessed with and developing. At TE, Fugate is smooth with his route running but flips the switch to physicality when making the catch in traffic or having to break tackles after the catch. That impressive physical strength also shines at QB. There are clips where he can’t even step into the pass and the ball jumps out of his hands 45+ yards downfield on a dot. Isaiah’s combination of finesse and strength shows his high level of body control and awareness and understanding of how to use his strengths in each scenario. Isaiah is an intriguing weapon.
