Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Stout, explosive frame who has played several positions in his career. Marked improvement at each exposure as a passer. Has the arm that can challenge D1 signees in the state when he is on. A capable athlete who can create in space and move the chains. Late bloomer player who should get a shot to prove himself.

Does a tremendous job of “turning two”. Long, but elastic and quick delivery, rips through the ball. Can manipulate touch to make different throws. Can tap into several trajectories. A good athlete, both inside and outside of the pocket. Not just a chain mover, can be drawn up opportunities to create with his legs. Every area of the field is reachable, both as a passer and as a runner. Tends to go big game hunting, but doesn’t lack confidence in his ability to make difficult throws. Jones has made massive leaps forward over the last year and has emerged as one of the best 2026 QBs in Georgia.

One of the more underrated quarterbacks in Georgia, Jones shined once again in the eyes of Prep Redzone scouts over the weekend. He’s a natural athlete with really good size and showed his big-time arm talent over and over again during the Atlanta Prep Redzone camp. He threw the ball with zip, with confidence, and was one of the top overall performers at the camp. He plays at a small school but has enough arm talent to earn some offers to play somewhere at the next level. Look for him to have a really strong senior season in 2025.

is an excellent quarterback who has been really talked about a lot and knowing of him coming in, he really proved once again that he’s the real deal. He was extremely on point with his throws, velocity and accuracy. He performed at a high level throughout the camp showing is consistency to be able to make impressive throws back to back.

Here is my previous note on Jones from this weekend:
“

was a notable performer coming into this event and validated the hype by winning MVP of the QB group. Jones caught a groove about halfway through camp and had a streak of impressive throws. He not only touched each level of the field with both power and touch, but he did it consistently. I thought this was the most confident I have seen him throw. He stepped into the drive throws and let the ball eat. He confirmed himself as a D1 QB prospect yesterday.”

Jones has emerged in recent months as a riser at the QB position in the 2026 class. This is his first full offseason strictly working as a QB, which has fast-tracked his development at the position. He has tight, clean mechanics and can bomb the ball around the field with relative ease. He does this on a cut, athletic frame as well. Jones is a rural prospect looking to prove himself amongst some solid players in the camp setting. He holds an offer from South Alabama and has plenty of D1 buzz outside of that.

A North Georgia quarterback on the rise who continues to work hard on his craft, Jones is a terrific athlete and a former wide receiver who opened some eyes at quarterback last season as a junior. The Pickens quarterback threw for 1,652 yards and 14 touchdowns last fall while rushing for another 712 yards and nine more scores. He’s a dual-threat talent who is improving more and more as a passer. The Dragons have plenty of returning weapons for Jones to throw too next fall so do’t be surprised if the big 6-foot-4 passer puts up big numbers in his final season. He should be one of the better quarterbacks in that area of the state for the 2025 season.

It was tough for the QBs to get time to throw with the big defensive lineman in their face but Jones made the best of it. The 6’2 175 QB showed good poise under pressure and made a couple of nice throws on the run.
Outlook:
An experienced dual threat QB that put up over 2300 yards with 23 TDs this season for the Pickens Dragons. He has good size and delivers a nice ball down field and has zip on the short throws. Prep Redzone has him ranked at WR which is a good indication of his athletic ability. One to watch in 2025.
