About Griffin
Expert Analysis
Andy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
Griffin is a two-way player. He has good size and brings a large catch radius with him. He is an effective weapon in the red and green zones. He is strong at the catch point and does a good job of shielding his defender in contested catch situations. He moves well for a player of his length. As a defender, he is a hybrid backer/edge rusher/safety and has good instincts and is quick off the line, and uses his length to his advantage; he could very well get 15+ sacks this year.

DeMartini was productive last season making plays at the EDGE and WR positions. Shows initial quickness to read and react. Shows flexibility, bursts and hips as a pass rusher to get to the QB. Demartini has the size and athleticism to play the EDGE position in 3-4 defensive type scheme.

Read EvaluationAndy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
DeMartini is a two-way player and an excellent hybrid athlete. Offensively, he gets vertical easily and has good ball-tracking skills. DeMartini creates late separation and has physicality to his game. He high points the ball well, and is good with creating on his own after the catch. DeMartini has a good catch radius and utilizes his length to his advantage. Defensively, he is instinctual with good closing speed and a player who does well at shedding blocks to get to the ball carrier. His ideal role is likely a hybrid Safety role and with his ball skills that should translate. He’s a toolsy prospect who should get recruited regionally off of that versatility and could go in any direction, from wide receiver, to tight end and then if he sticks defensively, could bulk up to be an outside backer and a hybrid strong safety.
