Announced on September 28th his commitment to Ithaca Football. A huge get for the Division Three program. Likely one of the higher-ranking commits the program has brought in from Pennsylvania since we began ranking kids four years ago.
No tape on Hudl to be found, I also can’t recollect seeing him in pads against North Allegheny. I’m out of the loop on injuries so I won’t speculate further. Still placed on our lists because of his recurring interest from potential collegiate suitors. A #48 is seen in second-half reps. Interested into whether Ithaca likes Papa at backer or along the defensive line.
Excited to announce my commitment to @IthacaBomberFB !! Thank you @CoachGrigs619 and @CoachTerp_ for the opportunity. @PCC_FOOTBALL @wpialsportsnews @WPIAL_Insider pic.twitter.com/GcxovYOmlN

is one of the better defensive lineman prospects in the 2025 class. Below is what my colleague Avery Hawkins wrote about him before:
“Grady is another PCC player with good size, standing at 6’2 and weighing 220 lbs. He has good bend in his stance and does a solid job of locking out offensive lineman when surveying. He has a nose for the ball and gives adequate effort. Papa was active in run support, playing DE last season. I expect Grady to assume added responsibility for the Vikings in 2022”.

with the big dogs of the State last update, doing so with full intention that he’s going to pop in the recruiting world. It hasn’t happened yet, that doesn’t mean I’m going to go back on my initial grade on the kid just yet. Papa places on this list of EDGE/IDL prospects, yet we know the book on the young man. Pittsburgh Central Catholic will be able to station Papa pretty much anywhere inside the front-seven. IDL, EDGE, LB, Papa can get the job done. Just under 6’3, 225, seeing Papa work in shorts and a t-shirt will likely open your eyes to the kind of athlete he is. If that doesn’t do it, plug in the tape. Papa boasts a 4.54 WPGA.

‘s production and tape do not have him grading out as an FBS player. His build, position versatility, and development situation at Pittsburgh Catholic have me calling his shot a bit early. Some will say he’s a top 50 prospect, not a top 25 prospect, I might agree. Yet, as an evaluator, I am often far too low on kids out west who are in the middle of developing. EDGE capabilities, linebacker and tight end reps could be had,

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Speca, Yuhas, Turkowski, Marshall, Fontana. These names aren’t enough for the Central Catholic Vikings. Add sophomore

who could grade everyone out not named Speca. Whoever is developing these kids, or feeding them, deserves an award. 6’3, 215, throw in awesome instincts and pursuit to the ball. An effective and timely blitzer off the edge. The development of both Thomas and Papa heading into their sophomore years will act as the difference between contending and bottoming out. Excited to see Papa ball this Fall.

The next in line of great Pittsburgh Central Catholic defenders, Papa made an early impact for the Vikings as a freshman and is slated to have an even bigger role in 2022. He already has great size at 6-foot-3 and 217-pounds, if he continues to grow, there is a possibility he develops into a defensive end. As a linebacker, Papa shows good athleticism and play recognition.
