Moriarty is someone who has been on the radar since day one and has only improved each year. He’s added muscle over the years and built out his frame, which has helped him in the trenches. He nearly doubled his production as a junior compared to his sophomore year. 108 tackles, 7 TFLS, 2 sacks, 2 passes deflected, and 2 forced fumbles. Moriarty is all over the field, physical, and has been a leader for TV for years.

Moriarty has gotten better each year and has become a consistent defensive presence. He started as a freshman with 24 tackles, then bumped that up to 53 tackles in year two. This year, he had 108 tackles, 7 TFLs, 2 forced fumbles, and a sack, showing his ability to make plays in multiple areas. His growth over the years shows he’s improving in all the right ways, and he’s become a key piece for their program throughout his 4-year career.

One of the more underrated 2-way players in the 2026 class in my opinion is off to another good start and I’m glad I got to see him live because what I saw in person matched what I’ve seen on tape. He’s got a nice frame that can withstand the damage in between the trenches, the IQ to bounce around, and the speed to cover sideline to sideline. Moriarty finished the night with 85 rushing yards and a TD on offense. He then added double digit tackles and a TFL on defense. An impressive showing from Moriarty to say the least.

There were not a ton of LBs at the combine, so it worked out for the ones who came because they got a bunch of reps and exposure. One guy who looked good testing and then in drill work was Moriarty. He’s coming off of his 2nd year playing both sides of the ball for Varsity where he’s continuing to improve. He’s got a well-built frame that he’s growing into and knows how to play behind. His pad level is typically very good and he won’t rise when engaging. I wouldn’t have been able to tell he broke his Fibula last season with how he looked on Sunday, so it’s good to see he’s made a full recovery and should continue to add to his career this fall.
