Gilbert is a special talent in the class of 2026 at QB. He shows all the intangibles you are looking for in a QB. In the pocket, Gilbert looks poised and confident. He shows clean footwork which leads to good accuracy on his throws. At 6’4 you would think he is only pocket passer, but Gilbert shows the mobility to escape the pocket and run. I am very impressed with the combination of his arm strength, size and mobility. Unfortunately, his junior season has been shortened due to a clavicle injury. Gilbert has received an offer from Sacred Heart.

was as advertised. The freshman passer is still seasoning his craft and has a way to go in terms of solidifying his place on our rankings. That being said, Kimrin flashed natural arm talent in front of college coaches. He flashed the ability to target weapons downfield, hitting kids in stride or letting speedy wideouts run underneath his throws 40+ yards downfield. I know Kimrin can be more accurate overall, especially when targeting the middle of the field. Solid in timing routes that broke towards the sideline, again, flashing arm strength. Excited to keep watching the young man work.

2026 6’4” 185 QBTWITTER: @GKimrin
Interest: UCONN, UMASS, Wake Forest, Rutgers, Pitt, URI, many more FBS schools
Head Coaches Notes/Analysis: Already a FBS frame. Can easily dunk a basketball. Great running ability, strong arm, but his best attributes are his processing speed and composure. Has a chance to be very special. Will be a 3 year starter for us. Power 5/National Recruit projection. Dad was an NFL kicker and kicked a 65 yard FG in preseason. I think he will gain some FBS traction at the start of this summer.

and some of his teammates throw on air for half an hour this past Monday. Loved what I saw for the most part, yet I’ll leave my notes on that day for a separate post. Kimirn lands as a top-five quarterback prospect, narrowly beating out McNeill and Gebhard who can make their own case to be above Kimrin. The 6’4, 185-pound passer has been talked about on the site several times. Kimrin still has so much to learn, he’s a high-ceiling, high-floor type of prospect. What you see now is already a step above his peers, if he never develops or advances, he still a grade above many in his area. That doesn’t mean the young passer doesn’t have plenty of room to grow, he’s going to have to continue progressing if he wants to keep this rank. I imagine he will.

He does a good job running rpo. I love how he continues out his ball fakes and or holds the ball long enough to get defender to make a commitment and then pull or give. He can escape the pocket with his legs. Keeps his eyes downfield dispict being pressured. A quick release is a viable option in his skill set. Has good confidence in early years that will help him to continue to develop. Has excellent size frame.

Taft quarterback/punter with quality reps as a Freshman. All reps recorded are Varsity reps, proving that this young talent could be a future name at the Taft program. Phenomenal size for his age, will need to beef up a bit under his pads but that will come in time. Utilized in a spread offense that begins sets with a mesh with the running back. Kimrin works the read-option preset well, tucking it and surprising defenders in open space. He surprises me as well, you don’t see 6’4 QBs move this well in space. He isn’t a track star or anything close, but Kimrin proves he must be respected to tuck and run. Not only tuck and run, Kimrin proves he can keep the ball, move out of the pocket and still deliver accurate passes. A ton of tools on display early on, this has to excite the staff at Taft. How about 1st-team All Founders honors as well, at punter. The young man proved his worth as a freshman, not many can claim that.
