About Gavin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a pocket passer but don't underestimate my scramble! Some of my favorite big-time plays have come out of a scramble!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I highly value my teammates and coaches. WE win championships! I got a locked-in mindset. My game day vibe is always on another level! I'm a vocal leader driven by God. There is no challenge too big for me and my TEAM! Underdog or not, I love to compete!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

GPA 4.6 I go on mission trips to Africa. I love philanthropy work! I was the youngest to graduate from the Blanchard Leadership Program with all badges. Received the Warrior Award in middle school which is the highest student achievement. I've been in several National Commercials. I've performed ASL at college games and professional games. My work off the field is how I want people to remember me!

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My purpose and identity is found in serving others! I have 22 brothers and sisters in Africa in which my family provides housing and schooling. I also volunteer at the Southeastern Food Bank. I plan to get my Master's degree in Sports Leadership, Philanthropy and missionary work. Catch me every Friday on my IG doing "Fearless Friday and Iron Sharpens Iron" where I talk all things God & Faith.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, we all do! Thats how God works and that's how he teaches us to overcome anything and learn from everything! I have Severs disease in both feet. It has changed how I walk and run. A couple times a month I get lots of needles inserted all over my legs for inflammation. This is the treatment plan until I am done growing, then Severs disappears. I love turning adversity into purpose!

What type of college are you looking for?

I will be grateful for wherever God places me as I know He does all things with purpose and intention. I'm not fixated on what type of college, but I am fixated on where I can turn an opportunity into something bigger than I ever imagined both on and off the field!
