Gavin Pereira Gavin Pereira 5'9" | 165 lbs | K Spotswood | 2026 State NJ is a prospect that I am truly fired up to write about. Spotswood head man Chris Meagher would big him up, and I would reply “I need film.” Now, finally, Pereira has film and the wait was well worth it.

Pereira did not hesitate to showcase his best kick. From the center hash, with the ball placed at the 35-yard line, Pereira absolutely murders the ball, clearing the uprights by just about 30 yards. Moreover, this kick was still ascending as it was well past the goal posts. Many of his kickoffs go out of the back of the endzone, so much so that returners look totally unenthusiastic and indifferent about the potential of a return. Hash-to-hash, both of Pereira’s furthest makes were with the ball at about the 25-yard line. Lastly, and perhaps what makes me such a fan of Pereira, is his onside kick ability. Pereira has shown the ability to squib the ball off the tee, box out, and recover the ball; where he was equally proficient – and perhaps more impressive – placing the ball just behind the head of the second level returners with deadening backspin on multiple kickoffs that have lead to recoveries.

This demonstration is why Pereira has earned an FBS-level grade and within the top-30 prospects within the state.
