About Gavin

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

According to my coaches, I’m different from other players due to my work ethic, discipline, and football intelligence. I excel at play recognition and knowing my assignment and everything that is happening on the field. I pride myself on being the hardest-working player; 100% every rep and ALL in. I stick to my assignments, stay locked in during and games, and always put the team first.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

As a Junior, I was named to the All-Academic Football Team and All-Academic Wrestling Team. I have a 5.0 GPA this semester, including 5 AP classes, and a 4.9 overall. I also sere my community through the Unified Sports Program, a sub program of the Special Olympics, where I am a mentor to student athletes with disabilities.

Naylor is a high IQ safety prospect that has great play recognition and instincts. He’s got good range to cover ground and close space with the ball in the air. Flashes great eye discipline to make quick decisive reads and trigger to the ball. Solid in coverage but can also come down aggressively in run support to make a tackle and bring strong contact at the POA. Like his reactionary quickness and the efficient angles he takes to the ball to limit wasted movement in pursuit. Filed the stat sheet throughout his senior season finishing with 92 tackles, seven PBU, and four interceptions. Committed to Claremont McKenna in September over an offer from Lewis & Clark.
