About Gavin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Aggressive discipline. A key part of my play style is my length. I use my length and explosiveness to set the edge and take my gap. I try to always be in my gap and take my assignment so that I can force the play back inside to our interior d-linemen and linebackers.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Consistent effort like the Navy Seals say, “You do not rise to the occasion, instead you sink to my level of training.” When I enter the field on Friday night, each step is on the foundation of that week’s preparation.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Through Loyola, I am involved in the service organization Insignis where I assist with Freshman orientation, open house night, and donor events. I am also involved in campus ministry at school and I am a Eucharistic Minister at my church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through football, I have developed a sense of pride and leadership. By looking up to the departing seniors, I have learned from their successes, failures and advice. These seniors are role models who have helped me become the man and the football player I am today. I am honored that they selected me as a 2025 Captain to carry that torch.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Others have faced great challenges. I challenge myself with a rigorous academic schedule, involvement in my community, and being a leader on my team. I do not see these as challenges, but rather opportunities.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that combines high academics and competitive football. I love playing football and standing with my teammates. College is the next step to prepare me for my career as well as manhood. Academics and football are essential to preparing me for these next steps.
