Gavin Crom Gavin Crom 5'10" | 205 lbs | EDGE/OL Fremont-Mills | 2028 IA ‘s size isn’t ideal as a DE, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for speed and explosiveness to make him a suitable edge-rusher for the Knights’ defense. Crom broke out in 2025 with 37 tackles, 16 TFLs, 9.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery as a sophomore. Crom flashes intriguing versatility, taking reps at DE, but also at DT taking on the interior-linemen head on, showcasing solid hand-fighting skills and natural power to win 1-on-1 matchups, being able to break into the backfield quickly to shut down the run or disrupt the pass on a consistent basis. Crom may have his work cut out for him in his junior season with the departure of several key starters, but he should no doubt continue to generate big results for the Knights going forward.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to get when I put on Crom’s sophomore highlight video. It’s eight-player football, where physical dimensions and positions often are less defined than in the 11-player game. Turns out, the Fremont-Mills 10th-grader is a good football player. We see him get after it as a defensive lineman on the first few clips of his tape. Then, there’s a play with him dominating as an offensive guard. How his frame develops from here will determine where Crom might project for the next level, but a foundation is place for success wherever that may end up being. Fast and tough, his motor makes it look like he’s playing a tick or two fast than the opponent. Crom totaled 37.0 tackles (18 solo, 16.0 TFL), notched 9.5 sacks and recovered a fumble.
