Burton is an effective two way player and might be asked to take on a bigger role as a receiver. He was used as a short area target last year and did most of his work as a defensive back. It’s a muddy receiver room and they’ll need additional help on that side. Burton might give them the juice they need in the receiving room. As a defensive back, he shows great instincts, good quickness and displays good physicality.

Burton is an instinctual athlete who displays exceptional anticipation and deciphers plays quickly. He’s a hybrid linebacker and safety and I like him as a safety at the next level. Burton has good coverage skills and excellent vision. He can be the deep safety as he covers a lot of ground and an eraser on defense and masks a lot of flaws within a defense. Burton showcases good closing speed and has active hands to make a play on the ball. He can be a box safety and hybrid big safety role as he is a physical player who is not afraid to get dirty and disrupt in run support. When Burton plants and go, he is exceptional and simply a playmaker. He’s a player that should get regionally recruited with power-four offers. He’s an exceptional athlete and will contribute at the next level.
